ICMR and Helios Launch "Syndicate Statistics", a Definitive Review of Lloyd's Performance
Insurance Capital Markets Research (ICMR) and Helios Underwriting PLC (Helios) today announced the launch of their comprehensive new book, Syndicate Statistics, a review of Lloyd’s performance 2025. The book presents a detailed analysis of every Lloyd’s syndicate, based on the 31 December 2024 calendar year results.
This essential book covers the overall performance of the Lloyd’s market and includes a detailed examination of individual syndicate results. It explores performance across syndicates of varying sizes and maturity levels and analyses their relative risk-return characteristics. The book is designed to be a go-to reference work for all investors, advisers, and consultants involved at Lloyd’s.
Markus Gesmann, co-founder of ICMR, commented, “In a market as complex as Lloyd’s, transparent and granular data is paramount. With Syndicate Statistics, we aimed to create an indispensable tool that cuts through the noise. Our detailed analysis allows stakeholders to benchmark performance accurately and understand the underlying drivers of success for each syndicate. We believe this level of insight is crucial for informed decision-making and strategic planning within the market.”
John Chambers, interim executive chairman at Helios, added, “Helios has always championed a data-driven approach to navigating the Lloyd’s market, and this book is a natural extension of that philosophy. Syndicate Statistics provides investors and market participants with a clear, objective view of performance that has been sorely needed. It is a vital resource for anyone looking to understand the opportunities and risks associated with specific syndicates, ultimately fostering greater market discipline and transparency.”
All Lloyd’s related data contained within the book has been gleaned from published financial statements of Lloyd’s and its constituent syndicates.
This first edition of Syndicate Statistics is available exclusively in hard copy. The next iteration of the book is planned for release in April 2026, based on the 2025 full-year financial statements.
